The Sequoia Community Corps is having a job fair for young adults, ages 18-24, on Thursday, July 24, 2014. The job fair is at 10:00 am at the Visalia Employment Connection, 4025 W. Noble Ave., Visalia. Job interviews will be held on the spot.
More than 60 positions are available for young adults ages 18-24. Youth will get paid training and can also earn a high school diploma while in the Sequoia Community Corps.
Young adults will learn valuable skills in specialties such as construction, recycling, weatherization and landscaping. Corpsmembers can also obtain certificates in forklift, bobcat and more. Corpsmembers who are hired will alternate one week working in one of the Corps departments and one week obtaining their high school diploma through John Muir Charter School if they did not yet graduate high school.
“The Sequoia Community Corps currently has a lot of openings for Tulare County young people,” stated Raquel Roa, Senior Program Coordinator with the Sequoia Community Corps. “This is a great opportunity for young people to learn valuable skills and have the opportunity to complete their education at the same time”.
Job fair attendees should bring government issued identification and their Social Security Card with them. All applicants must be able to pass a drug screen. For questions or more information, contact Raquel Roa at (559) 741-4619 or Raquel.Roa@cset.org.
