Exeter Chamber holds Sept. 18 ribbon cutting

The Exeter Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for Exeter Responds at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18 at the chamber office, located at 101 W. Pine St. in Exeter.

Exeter Responds is a coalition of public and non-profit organizations and churches who collaborate to put on the Trunk or Treat safe Halloween event, food drives for the Exeter Food Closet each fall and camping trips for at-risk youth during summer break. The coalition is a partnership between the Exeter Police Department, Courage To Change, California Cadet Corps 3rd Brigade, Exeter Public Schools, Tulare County Board of Supervisors, countywide law enforcement, faith based organizations and local businesses. Co-organizers Celis and Denise Rabena invite the community to come learn more about this partnership which offers essential services to those in the community who need help the most. Deadlines nearing for Menudo & Pozole Cook Off in downtown Lindsay

Deadlines are approaching for the Lindsay Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Menudo and Pozole Cook Off on Oct. 4 in downtown Lindsay.

Monday, Sept. 15 is the deadline to operate a retail vendor booth or to sponsor the event. Sponsorship packages include recognition on the event banner and are as follows: Gold – is $200 and includes 8 tickets; Silver – is $150 and includes 4 tickets; Bronze – is $100 and includes 2 tickets. Those interested should visit www.thelindsaychamber.com to download the Sponsorship Form or Retail Vendor Booth Application, complete it and mail it back to the Lindsay Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 989 Lindsay, CA 93247.

Entry fee for the Cook Off is $100 per team. Each team is asked to prepare at least 1.5 gallons of either Menudo or Pozole to give away in samples of at least 2 oz. cups. Teams will be required to supply their own sample containers to distribute to the public for tasting. Once the judging is complete, teams may sell their Menudo/pozole in 30 oz Styrofoam bowls for $6. Exeter Chamber holds Sept. 25 ribbon cutting

The Exeter Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for Family Builders Foster Care at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 at its facility, located at 6500 S. Mooney Blvd. in Visalia.

Family Builders provides therapeutic case management services for foster children including foster parent training, professional support and financial compensation for meeting the child’s needs. Family Builders’ goals include providing safe, secure and stable foster homes as well as ensuring that individual needs and positive environments are met for each child placed.
