Motel 6 will add new, 32-room wing to its location at 4645 W. Noble Ave. in Visalia
VISALIA – A motel in Visalia has been given the green light to nearly double its size.
At its Nov. 13 meeting, the Visalia Planning Commission approved a 32-room expansion of the Motel 6 located at 4645 W. Noble Ave. The new, two-story wing will expand the total capacity of the hotel from 75 units to 107 units (a 43% increase). Owner Mike Patel, who also owns Rodeway Inn in Hanford, said the expansion is a project that he has been planning to maximize space on the highway commercial property.
“It’s something I’ve wanted to do for some time,” Patel said.
The new, two-story wing won’t look out of place as it will be constructed between an existing two-story wing of Motel 6 to the west and the two-story Majestic Inn to the east.
The additional 11,848 square foot wing will also include a laundry room and vending machine room as well as mechanical/electrical rooms. An undeveloped portion on the northwest section of the property will be developed and provide the hotel with an additional 17 parking spaces bringing the total to the 108 parking stalls required by the city for the number of guests and staff. A 7-foot block wall will be added to the southeast corner of the property to separate the expansion from residences.
