At the upcoming Annual Salute to Dairy at the International Agri-Center, this year’s Dairy Princess Olivia Machado will pass the crown to the 2024-2025 Dairy Princess.

Annual Salute to Dairy and Dairy Princess Coronation to be held June 21 at the International Agri-Center; ceremony will see the current Dairy Princess pass the crown to the 2024-2025 princess

TULARE – The Tulare Chamber of Commerce, Tulare County Dairy Women and the California Milk Advisory Board will celebrate National Dairy Month by hosting Salute to Dairy and the 39th Annual Tulare County Dairy Princess Coronation on June 21.

The ceremony will kick off at 6 p.m. at the International Agri-Center with a wine and cheese social and silent auction, followed by dinner and award presentations at 7 p.m.

This year, Salute to Dairy will recognize the Borba Family for the annual Dairy Family of the Year award. Frank G. Borba Sr. emigrated from the Açores, Portugal, to the U.S. in 1914, started his own dairy in 1924 and moved it to Porterville in 1939. In 2000, the Borba family established Borba Dairy, now operating three dairies and continuing to expand. The Tulare Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the Borba family’s contributions to the community and their legacy in the dairy industry.

Tulare County has long been recognized as one of the top agricultural producing counties in the world and its top ag product, milk, has only strengthened the industry in recent years. According to the most recent Tulare County Crop and Livestock Report, milk accounts for 23% of the agricultural value in Tulare County and is only growing.

This year’s Dairy Princess Olivia Machado will be passing on the crown to Tulare County’s 2024-2025 Dairy Princess. The newly crowned princess will serve as an ambassador for the entire dairy industry and represent Inyo, Mono and Tulare counties. The Dairy Princess will also receive training and professional development coaching from the CMAB.
