Deadline for Man, Woman, Business of the Year, Beautification and Heritage awards is Friday, Jan. 12
EXETER – The Exeter Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for community members and businesses promote and personify Exeter’s “small town charm.” The annual awards include Man, Woman and Business of the Year, the Beautification Award and Heritage Awards.
Man and Woman of the Year should be someone distinguished, with both civic and community involvement and a dedicated volunteer. Heritage Award is given to someone who has been a part of the community for at least 25 years, has had outstanding service and made outstanding contributions to the community over an extended period of time, involved in county and state government and those who went above and beyond the line of duty. Business of the Year must be a current chamber member, be involved in the community, provide professional leadership in the community over time or accomplished a major, one-time achievement. The Beautification Award is given to the business that has down the most in the last few years to improve its appearance or the appearance of the community.
Last year’s award winners were: Man of the Year Bob Sperry; Woman of the Year Stefani Woods; Business of the Year Exeter Kiwanis Club; Beautification Award The Clover House; and Heritage Award winner Danny Boland. Past honorees are ineligible for consideration for at least 10 years.
Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12. Forms may be returned to the Exeter Chamber by emailing [email protected], faxing 559-592-3720 or mailing to 101 W. Pine St., Exeter, CA 93221. Winners will be honored at the Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Exeter Veterans Memorial Building, 324 N. Kaweah Ave. in Exeter.
