TULARE — We are all aware of COVID-19’s effect on the city of Tulare, its businesses, schools and residents. But where Tulare goes after navigating the pandemic will be the focus of the mayor’s State of the City address this month.

The Tulare Chamber of Commerce will host the annual State of the City Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, at the International Agri-Center, 4500 S. Laspina St. in Tulare. The state of the city is an informative event providing businesses and community members with an opportunity to hear about city projects and future goals from Mayor Dennis Mederos. Tulare City Council members and city staff will attend and be available at the luncheon event to answer questions from the audience about local issues and concerns.

A State of the County presentation is also planned by Supervisor Pete Vander Poel III, who represents District 2 encompassing the city of Tulare on the Tulare County Board of Supervisors. Mederos and Vander Poel will be joined by State Sen. Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) and Assembly Member Devon Mathis (R-Visalia) who will provide State Legislative updates during the event.

Advance reservations for the State of the City event are required. The early registration price is $50 per person with a discounted price of $40 for Tulare Chamber members.
