County throws Woodville a disc golf course

The Flying Monkeys, Visalia’s disc golf club, will partner with Tulare County to fund new disc golf course in Woodville

WOODVILLE – New recreation opportunities are coming to Woodville in the form of a Disc Golf Course.

At the Jan. 25 Tulare County Board of Supervisors meeting, the board approved a nine-hole disc golf course to be constructed within Woodville Park. According to county staff reports, Woodville community members have expressed interest in having a disc golf course installed at Woodville park.

There are currently six disc golf courses in five Tulare County parks, including two in Mooney Grove Park, Kings River, Bartlett, Pixley and most recently Cutler. The installation and ongoing maintenance of Tulare County’s disc golf courses is supported by donations and fundraising in addition to county funding.

Woodville Park’s ongoing partnership with The Flying Monkeys, Visalia’s disc golf club, will use in-kind donations along with funding from the county Capital Project Parks Improvement budget to fund the course.
