Ramona Caudillo steps down from Lindsay City Council during special council meeting on May 31

LINDSAY – City council has announced the sudden resignation of Mayor Ramona Caudillo, marking another notable leadership change for the small town within the span of roughly six months.

On Friday, May 31, Lindsay City Council held a special meeting where they announced that Ramona Caudillo has resigned as the town’s mayor and is leaving the council. Caudillo, who was expected to be at the meeting, did not attend due to sickness and will not be at any future meetings.

During the special meeting, the city served cake to people in attendance in honor of her departure. This sudden change is after her five month run as mayor, a role she was appointed back in February after the council voted to remove councilmember Hipolito Cerros as Mayor.

This is just one of the many changes to Lindsay’s leadership in the past year. One of the other items discussed at the special meeting was the matter of interviews for the town’s next city manager, which were held in closed session. The council did not have anything to report on the matter out of closed session, however.

The next Lindsay City Council meeting is on Tuesday, June 11.
