At the Lindsay Unified School District board meeting Monday, Nov. 24, Board Clerk Mercy Herrera reported that she visited John J. Cairns Continuation High School for the purpose of interviewing staff at the site about accusations regarding Interim Principal David Reisinger.
A formal complaint was issued by a teacher at the site accusing Reisinger of verbally abusing two teachers. The California Teachers Association was alerted to the situation. Representatives there said they would conduct and informal investigation.
Herrera said she interviewed four teachers and found no one to back up the accusations.
"No one there had seen signs of misconduct," she said.
Herrera added that none of the teachers she had interviewed had heard Reisinger say any of the things he was accused of saying about teachers and students.
Lindsay Teachers Association Co-Chair, Carol Jones thanked Herrera for taking the time to visit the school and talk to teachers. Jones said that recent meetings between LTA representatives, Superintendent Janet Kliegl and Assistant Superintendent Andrew Bukosky, regarding the matter had gone well.
