The Lindsay Explorers have almost reached their goal of 20 members. Advising Officer Jose Domingos said there is room for just six more junior explorers.
Junior explorers participate in the Law Enforcement Exploring Program (LEEP). LEEP is a special interest phase of the Boy Scouts of America though Boy Scout membership is not required to join. The primary goal of the program is to expose young adults to the many facets of law enforcement by providing them with training and exposure to police functions. Explorers assist with official police business, participate in ride-alongs and help in the community.
The Lindsay junior explorers have done their fair share of community service. The group was on hand during Santa Night in Lindsay, assisting with crowd control and handing out gifts. The explorers also participated in the downtown tree planting Nov. 15.
