For many adults the new year is filled with resolutions to lose weight or quit smoking, but some adults and parents in Lindsay have resolved to change their lives and the lives of their family through extended education.
Interim Principal at J.J Cairns Continuation High School David Reisinger estimated that more than 75 adults are enrolled in the Extended education classes available through the district. The program offers courses that fulfill requirements to receive a high school diploma, courses for English language learners and study classes for adults taking the general equivalency degree exam.
The school offers morning classes from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, evening classes from 5-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and an independent study class in Friday by appointment only.
