Healthy Start has completed its first decade of service to Lindsay, and its entire staff is extending an invitation to parents and the community to join them on their 10th anniversary on March 25 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Healthy Start Office located next to the Lindsay Unified School District Office.
The event will showcase the agency's 20 representatives who are involved with Health Start in providing various services to the families of the school district. Several of the individuals who launched the program will be on hand to share the program's history. There will also be entertainment and food provided. Healthy Start started with three staff members with an annual budget of $100,000.
The program now boasts 18 staff members with an approximate annual budget of $1 million. The program receives all of its funding through federal and state grants with no cost to the school district.
