Schools praise employees at dinner

At the Exeter Public Schools Evening of Recognition dinner Thursday, May 6, administrators had the opportunity to thank hardworking employees, board members recognized educators whose classes they had once been in and teachers celebrated the achievements of co-workers.

The event's theme, "A Tradition Continues," demonstrates the dedication to excellence in education that both the high school and elementary school districts' staff and faculty work to accomplish.

Members from each district school board presented awards of appreciation, for service and exemplary service as well as to retiree's and recipients of the principal's award.

Perhaps the most coveted award were those for exemplary service. A classified and certificated employee from each district were presented with a plaque and words of praise from board members.

Appreciation award:

Exeter Union High School, Alfred Grijalva; Kaweah High School, Joe Englebrecht; Wilson Middle School, Dedee Pernu; Rocky Hill, Cindy Danielson; Lincoln Elementary, Cheryl Hewitt.

Principals Award:

EUHS, Mike White; Kaweah, Stephanie Tucker; Wilson, Maria Loya; Rocky Hill, Barbara Sally; Lincoln, Arlene Kelemen.

Service Awards:

EUSD; Erna Childers, 25 years; MaryJo Crookshanks, 25 years; Judee Pinkham, 25 years, Clyde Scott, 25 years; Margaret Harke, 30 years; Judy Garcia, 35 years.

EUHSD; Chuck Knox, 30 years.

Retiree's:

EUSD; Steve Caldwell, Bill Thomas, Sheila Lucero, Margaret Harke.
