Lana Weatherly was named Lindsay High School's Principal on June 9.
Weatherly is replacing five-year administrator Mike Henson after he took a principalship at Strathmore High School
Weatherly came to Lindsay Unified School District from Exeter where she was an assistant principal at Rocky Hill Elementary School.
Henson officially assumed the position at Strathmore on July 1. Control of Strathmore High School was recently transferred to Porterville Unified School District through the voter approved Measure K. Henson is familiar with the PUSD system having previously worked there as the principal of Monache High School.
Students and staff alike will miss Henson who was an integral part of the high school's accreditation process. In April LHS was granted a six-year accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
LUSD held interviews for the open assistant principal position on Tuesday, June 29. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Andrew Bukosky said LHS plans on keeping the same number of administrators at the high school. The district hopes to have the position filled before the end of the summer.
