The recall petitions for Farmersville Unified School District board members Martin Macareno and Blanca Sandoval were approved by the Tulare County Elections Office.
The petitions were found to have sufficient signatures to proceed with the recall. There were more than 940 signatures on each of the petitions. The elections office verified 500 signatures on each of the petitions. Once those cleared they were deemed valid.
The recall election for Sandoval and Macareno will occur Nov. 2. Candidacy forms for anyone interested in running in the Nov. 2 elections against Macareno and Sandoval are available at the elections department located on the ground floor of the Tulare County Courthouse, room G28. The filing deadline is Aug. 19.
The recall election of two other board members Antonio Ramos and Conrado Gonzalez will be held Aug 3. Macareno said he has been campaigning and will continue to campaign for Gonzalez and Ramos.
Jimmy R. Allen, Registrar of Voters, is reminding all residents of the Farmersville Unified School District, that voter registration cards are available at locations throughout Tulare County.
To obtain a mail-in registration card, call 733-6275 or 1-800-345-VOTE, a toll free hot line or apply online at www.tularecoauditor.org/elections. The last day to register to vote is Monday, July 19, for the Aug. 3 election.
Absentee ballots were available July 5. July 27 is the last day the elections office may receive an absentee ballot request by mail.
Also, Tulare County residents who will be sworn in as United States citizens by a federal judge after Monday July 5, but no later than Tuesday July 27, may register and vote at the Tulare County Elections Office. A nationalization certificate will be required at the time of registeration.
