LUSD choir concert is Dec. 14

Make this Christmas holiday a special time for you and your family by attending the Choir Concert presented by the choirs of Lindsay High School and Steve Garvey Junior High School. This Yuletide performance will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the Lindsay Community Theater. Tickets are $2.

A wide variety of Christmas music will be presented by each of the choirs. The Garvey choir will sing a rhythmic rendition of "Venite in Bethlehem" (Come to Bethlehem), a song with a Jewish flavor called "Celebrating Hanukkah," and a gospel rendition called "Bright Star Shining."

The High School choirs include the Cardinal Choir which will sing familiar favorites which include a medley of "Jingle Bells" and "Over the River," and antiphonal rendition of "Deck the Hall," and the cheerful song "All is Merry and All is Bright."

The Women's Choir will present four songs in a variety of styles ranging from the beautiful new song "Share the Spirit of Christmas" and "There's a Candle to A Wreath of Carols," a medley of eight familiar carols.

The Concert Choir will also sing songs in an assortment of moods from the beloved "Silent Night" to an upbeat, jazzy arrangement of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." They will also reprise "Christmas in About Three Minutes," a highlight of last year's concert.

All the choirs will combine as one huge choir to fill the theater with choral sound as they sing "A Seasonal Madrigal."

Tickets may be purchased from choir members or at the door on the night of the concert. The doors will open at 6:30.
