Tulare County Farm Bureau offers scholarships

Applications are now being accepted for various scholarships offered by the Tulare County Farm Bureau to high school graduates continuing at junior college and/or accredited colleges or universities. The scholarship deadline is March 1.

Ten scholarship will be awarded to qualified students based on leadership skills, career goals, scholastic achievement and financial need. The scholarships are:

Ag Career

$1,000 - Frank Ribeiro Memorial Scholarship for a student pursuing a career in an agriculture related field at a four-year school.

$1,000 - TCFB Scholarship for a student in an agriculture-relate major, renewable if criteria are met up to $4,000 value.

$1,000 - Marilyn Collison Memorial Scholarship for a student pursuing a career in an agriculture related field.

$500 - California State University, Fresno, Ag One Scholarship for a student enrolling at Fresno State pursuing a degree in agriculture business, plant, animal, or food science or agricultural education.

$500 - College of the Sequoias, Agriculture Department Scholarship for a student majoring in agriculture attending COS.

$500 - Porterville College for an agriculture major student attending Porterville College.

$500 - Scott Shannon Memorial Scholarship for a student currently enrolled in the Visalia Unified School District who will pursue an agriculture major in college; renewable if criteria are met for three years up to a $2,000 value.


$1,000 - TCFB Education Scholarship for students pursuing a career in teaching at a four-year college or university; may be renewed for one year if criteria are met up to a $2,000 value. Two scholarships will be awarded.

Student of Farm Employee (student of owners or operator of an agricultural operation and are not eligible).

$1,000 - TCBF Scholarships to a student who has a parent employed as a farm worker and will be attending a four-year institution; renewable for three years if criteria are met up to a $4,000 value.

To be eligible for a scholarship, students must be a resident of and currently attend school in Tulare County and must complete an application by the March 1 deadline. Included with the application must be two letter of recommendation and transcript verifying applicant's Grade Point Average.

To obtain an application, contact the TCFB office at 732-8301. The completed application must be sent to: Tulare County Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 748, Visalia CA. 93279 postmarked by March 1.
