Leprechaun reveals 'Pot of Gold'

By Jeannie Lopez

Wilson PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) kicked off their annual St. Patrick's Day Pot of Gold 50/50 fund- raiser with a leprechaun dancing a jig, singing Irish songs and holding a pot of gold.

Susan Maday, Rocky Hill sixth grade teacher, got students excited about the fund-raiser by acting like a leprechaun. She sang and danced around the cafeteria until the students began laughing. Maday then presented the students with the St.Patrick's Day Pot of Gold 50/50 fund -raiser.

The St. Patrick's Day Pot of Gold 50/50 fund-raiser began Feb. 10th. It will give Wilson School students an opportunity to help their school while, winning prizes. The more tickets they sell the more chances they have of winning prizes. Each week the PTO will draw five names and award those students with a "Bag of Gold" full of surprises.. Surprises that may include cash, Taco Bell coupons, Frosty King coupons, free movie rental coupons and much more.

PTO has 10,000 tickets to sell for a $1 each and the winner of the drawing will win half of all the tickets sold. The grand prize winner could win as much as $5,000. The top three sellers will be awarded cash. First prize will be awarded $100, second prize will get $75 and third prize will receive $50.

All the proceeds will go to Wilson's Middle Schools PTO.

The PTO has already contributed money from other fund-raisers to Wilson's wrestling team, basketball team, playground equipment, to the WMS band, bleachers, WMS Student Body, Kids Who Care Club, eighth grade graduation dance, baseball team and many other groups.

This is an important fund raiser for the PTO and they hope the community will make the 50/50 Pot of Gold fund-raiser a success for Wilson School.

Tickets are on sale at Exeter Chamber of Commerce, Wilson Middle School Office and participating Wilson Middle School students.

The drawing will be held on Thursday, March 17 on St .Patrick's Day. Need not to be present to win.
