EUHS seniors plan for mural

The Exeter Union High School's senior class is endeavoring to make their senior class gift a mural, which would be located in the architectural archway of the new building located south of the high school auditorium.

The painting would be of the original E.U.H.S. building and would face Highway 65.

The class does not have sufficient funds to complete the project, which is estimated to cost in the neighborhood of $7,000.

Geraldine (Grandma) Sandidge, lifetime resident of the area, was known as Goodwill Ambassador and a fan of Exeter's murals. She always dreamed of having a mural of the original high school building, which she attended, painted on one of the Exeter buildings, so she could see it while she was alive.

Unfortunately, she passed away at age 90, a few months ago.

A group of her friends have decided to join the 2006 high school senior class, and raise funds to add to the existing funds to complete the mural in her memory.

Each year, EUHS's senior class votes on a project to leave as a gift to the school. Past projects have included plaques, inscriptions, statues, etc.

If you would like to to be a part of this project, you may send your check to the &#8220High School Mural Fund,” care of the Exeter Chamber of Commerce, at 101 W. Pine St., Exeter, Calif., 93221.
