EUHS Class of 1982 reunites on Oct. 20

The EUHS Class of ’82 30th Reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 from 6-10:30 p.m. at the Exeter Woman’s Club, 201 N. Kaweah Ave. in Exeter. The cost is $20 per person. Enjoy a casual evening of reconnecting with your classmates from ’82, as well as some guests from ’81 & ’83. There will be a light buffet, no host wine and beer bar and complimentary soft drinks.

They will also meet up again, Sunday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m., at the Wildflower Café on E Street in Exeter for another chance to mingle. You must R.S.V.P. with your payment by Oct. 5. For more information or questions email [email protected] or [email protected].

 

Porterville College to Host Senior Day

Porterville College will open its campus to high school seniors from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Oct. 3 for their 7th Annual Senior Day. The day will feature a variety of activities for seniors from career demonstrations to giveaways.

More than 1,300 seniors from local high schools are expected to attend the event. Participating high schools include: Burton Pathways Charter High School, Butterfield Charter High School, Citrus High School, Granite Hills High School, Harmony Magnet Academy, Lindsay High School, Monache High School, Porterville Adult School, Porterville High School, Prospect Ed Center, Strathmore High School and Summit Charter Collegiate Academy.

This year’s guest speaker is author and entrepreneur, Arel Moodie. As a professional speaker and co-owner of the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour, Moodie has spoken to over 85,000 students in 43 states and three countries all by his 27th birthday. He is the bestselling author of the book, “Your Starting Point for Student Success,” which teaches students the best secrets for success in school and in life. Seniors in attendance will be able to receive a copy of Moodie’s book during Senior Day.

The day will also feature such festivities as: a Career Fair, a demonstration by the Porterville Police Department Canine Unit, the Porterville Fire Department, a Dress for Success Fashion Show, health career demonstrations and more than a dozen educational seminars. Seniors will also receive an in-depth look into how to prepare and register for college.

Seniors attending seminars throughout the day will be entered into a raffle to win fantastic prizes. Lunch will be provided for all students.
