Woodlake Unified to hold TK, kindergarten registration March 19-20 at F. J. White
Woodlake Unified School District will be holding its kindergarten and transitional kindergarten (TK) registration from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on March 19 and 20 at Francis J. White Learning Center, located at 700 N. Cypress Ave. in Woodlake.

Registration will be by last name. Last names beginning with A-M will register on Monday, March 19. Last names beginning with N-Z will register on Tuesday, March 20.

Strathmore Elementary holds preschool, kindergarten and TK registration on March 6
Strathmore Union Elementary School District will hold its kindergarten, transitional kindergarten and preschool registration for incoming students from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6 at Strathmore Elementary School.

To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2018. Transitional kindergarten (TK) eligible students must turn 5 years old between Sept. 2 and Dec. 2, 2018. To be eligible for preschool, students must turn 3 or 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2018. Students eligible for extended transitional kindergarten turn 5 years old between Dec. 3, 2018 and Jan. 31, 2019. These children will be placed on a wait list and be enrolled the second week of school. Enrollment for extended TK will be limited to filling existing classrooms and priority will be given to the oldest student.

Birth certificate and immunization records are required at the time of registration. For more information, call the school at 559-568-2118 or come to the Strathmore Elementary School office located at 23024 Avenue 198 in Strathmore.

 

Orange Belt Beef Boosters holds Dinner and Dance March 3
The Orange Belt Beef Boosters will hold their 17th Annual Dinner & Dance on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Porterville Fairgrounds.

The event is a no host bar with social hour beginning at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The country music band “Branded Heart” will be performing from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person. All proceeds benefit FFA students exhibiting beef and heifer projects at the 2018 Porterville Fair.

Tickets can be obtained from any exhibitor, or from Ann Marie Wallace at 559-359-5191. Donated silent auction items are also encouraged.

 

Lindsay Unified to review district’s student nutrition, PE policies
The Lindsay Unified School District will be conducting an assessment and review of the district’s student wellness policy related to nutrition and physical education. The meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16 the board room of the district office, 371 E. Hermosa St. in Lindsay.

The public is invited to attend the meeting. If you would like to be part of the meeting, contact the Nutrition Services Department.
