Sycamore Valley Academy offers newly formed scholarships to its first class of graduating seniors

VISALIA – The Academies Charter Management Organization will award a merit-based scholarship to one college bound high school senior graduating this spring for the first time in its six-year history.

This annual scholarship is being established this year in celebration of the first high school graduating class of Sycamore Valley Academy alumni. Students graduating earlier this month were in SVA’s first 8th grade graduating class in 2012.

“We are excited to see how our former students are using the skills they developed while attending our schools. The collaborative learning environment of Sycamore Valley Academy has prepared them for success in high school and beyond” said Principal Damien Phillips.

To qualify for The Academies Alumni Scholarship, applicants must be a college bound high school senior graduating in the class of 2018. They must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher and they must have attended a Sycamore Valley Academy for at least one year of their K-8 education. Applicants must complete the current official The Academies Alumni Scholarship Application form by April 15, 2018 to be considered. Sycamore Valley Academy and Blue Oak Academy are free, public schools and admission is open to all interested students. The Academies Alumni Scholarship is provided by generous donations to The Academies Scholar Fund. For additional information, contact: Claudia Van Groningen at 559-622-3236 or [email protected].
