Friends of Tulare County Child Welfare Services wraps up annual drive this week
VISALIA – This Sunday is your last chance to help children who may not otherwise receive a Christmas present.
Tulare County community members are invited to Fill the Trolley with new, unwrapped toys and gifts for the Friends of Tulare County Child Welfare Services Children’s Toy Drive this Sunday, Dec. 1 at the Visalia Mall, 2031 S. Mooney Blvd.
“CWS is thrilled to work in collaboration with First Transit to Fill the Trolley with unwrapped toys and gifts, because without community sponsorship, it would be impossible to reach our goals to provide each of our children with a toy or gift,” said HHSA Division Manager-CWS, Courtney Sallam. “Sixty percent of toys and gifts distributed by the CWS Children’s Toy Drive result from generous donations from the community, so come join us as we Fill the Trolley; we hope to see you there!”
Fill the Trolley events began on Nov. 16 and were held at the Visalia Farmers Market in the Sequoia Mall parking lot every Saturday and at the Visalia Mall parking lot every Sunday during the month of November, through a partnership with First Transit.
The Child Welfare Services (CWS) Children’s Toy drive is a community-based event serving children and teens receiving Child Welfare Services. This year, the CWS Children’s Toy Drive hopes to serve 1,550 children and youth.
