Lindsay club honors TERRIFIC kids for February

Lindsay Kiwanis recognizes learners in Lindsay Unified for exemplary character

LINDSAY – Kiwanis is a group of volunteers with the mission of empowering our community to improve the world by making a lasting difference in the lives of children. Lindsay Kiwanis Club recognizes Lindsay Unified School District learners who are Thoughtful-Enthusiastic-Respectful-Responsible-Inclusive-Friendly-Inquisitive-Capable (TERRIFIC) and who serve their community (school and/or Lindsay). This month, Lindsay Kiwanis Club congratulates and recognizes two learners from J. J. Cairns Continuation High School.

Felimon Comonfort
12th grade

Felimon Comonfort, grade 12, has excelled during online learning, it was a seamless transition for him. He is a motivated and self-driven young man and it shows in all of his classes. He is always willing to help other learners who are struggling with content. In advisory class he has been very friendly with our newest learners and is sure to include them in discussions. We chose Felimon because he exemplifies the ideal learner for our learning community and has set a great example for the rest of our learners.

Raquel Isquierdo
12th grade

Raquel Isquierdo, grade 12, has flourished during this most challenging time. She excels in her academics; she is the first to participate in activities and conversations and expresses patience for everyone in her advisory group. She advocates for herself and others, and is just doing a tremendous job as a Lindsay learner. J. J. Cairns staff is proud of her and her perseverance. She faces challenges head-on and is on her way to becoming a positive, active member of her community.
