Lindsay Kiwanis recognizes learners in Lindsay Unified for exemplary character
LINDSAY – Kiwanis is a group of volunteers with the mission of empowering our community to improve the world by making a lasting difference in the lives of children.
Lindsay Kiwanis Club recognizes Lindsay Unified School District learners who are Thoughtful-Enthusiastic-Respectful-Responsible-Inclusive-Friendly-Inquisitive-Capable (TERRIFIC) and who serve their community (school and/or Lindsay). This month, Lindsay Kiwanis Club congratulates and recognizes two learners from Roosevelt Elementary School.
Emariee Vasquez-Guereca, fifth grader at Roosevelt Elementary School exhibits being TERRIFIC by being kind and respectful to everyone she encounters. She strives to find the beauty in everything. In the learning environment she meticulously completes all tasks with ample time to encourage and coach her peers. As a Grizzly she is the embodiment of a learner that exudes a growth mindset, respect, and responsibility. For all these reasons and much more she is truly fitting for the honor of Kiwanis Terrific Kid. Vasquez-Guereca was nominated for this award by Ms. Brenda Gonzalez, Roosevelt learning facilitator.
Davian Martinez, first grader at Roosevelt Elementary School exhibits being TERRIFIC by being a model student who possesses outstanding character. His relationships with his peers and his ability to work with others goes beyond what is expected of a 6-year-old. He is always willing to help his classmates and does so with patience and kindness. He has a calm, peaceful demeanor that puts everyone around him at ease. His enthusiasm and positive attitude when taking on a task is infectious to those around him. When completing a task he puts forth his best effort and works hard to produce quality work. Martinez is very conscientious and thoughtful with his choices and actions. He is very polite and has excellent manners. The school’s staff and faculty can’t wait to see what kind of person he will grow up to be.
Martinez was nominated by Mrs. Brenda Bevers, Roosevelt learning facilitator.
