As helipad construction continues at Kaweah Delta Medical Center, patients and visitors are urged to use alternate parking lots and visit Kaweah Delta’s other locations for outpatient X-ray and lab services.
Forty parking spaces in Kaweah Delta Medical Center’s main parking lot are being used for construction, while the remaining spaces are reserved for patients with emergencies. However, 120 new patient and visitor parking spaces are available in three alternate locations:
-The Willow Parking Garage, east of the hospital, which is accessible from Locust and Court streets
-The Mineral King Avenue parking lot, south of the hospital along Mineral King Avenue
-The Acequia Parking Garage on West Acequia Avenue, north of the hospital’s Acequia Wing
During this time, patients are also asked to visit the following Kaweah Delta locations for lab work or X-rays:

The helipad’s installation will have far reaching effects for the region because it will help trauma victims get treatment faster, said Dr. Nichole Meissner, Director of Trauma at Kaweah Delta. “Treatment in the first hour has a significant impact on survival, especially when it comes to trauma,” Meissner said.
Kaweah Delta has one of the busiest emergency departments in the state and treated 86,000 patients this past year. It is also the only level III trauma center in Tulare and Kings counties. Since this designation, the number of trauma patients has increased over 200 percent to over 1,000 trauma patients each year.
Kaweah Delta Health Care District is one of the area’s most progressive healthcare providers and the only level III trauma center serving Tulare and Kings counties. The district offers a comprehensive scope of services including everything from a well-respected pediatric hospitalist program to nationally-recognized orthopedic and cancer programs.
