TRMC seeks volunteers for customer service liaisons, call backs

Tulare Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is hosting a volunteer orientation for two new programs; Customer Service Liaison and Call Back Volunteer. The volunteer positions support the enhanced customer service goals of Tulare Regional Medical Center.

Customer Service Liaisons work in pairs at the Information Desk in Tulare Regional Medical Center’s Main Lobby. Volunteer Liaisons support the Patient Access Department, Ambulatory Care Unit and Medical Imaging Department. A minimum commitment of 3 hours per week is recommended.

Call Back Volunteers will phone newly discharged patients to thank them for choosing Tulare Regional Medical Center for their care. Volunteers will conduct the calls on Mondays and Fridays from the Marketing Department. A minimum commitment of 2 hours per week is recommended.

Three blood drives held in the foothills in February

They say deaths come in threes, but you can help people live longer and healthier by donating blood at a trio of blood drives in the foothills next month.

Both Three Rivers and Exeter will hold a blood drive on Thursday, Feb. 7. The first will be held from 2-6 p.m. at the Three Rivers Memorial Building, located at 43490 Sierra Dr. in Three Rivers.

The second blood drive that day will be held from 3-7 p.m. at A&W Root Beer, located at 420 N. Kaweah Ave. in Exeter.

The following day a blood drive will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Harmony Magnet Academy, located 19429 Road 228 in Strathmore.Special reward coupons will be given at all three blood drives while supplies last.

Blood donation takes less than one hour to complete. Donors must be in good general health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old. Senior citizens are encouraged to donate. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within 4 hours prior to their donation. Donors can give blood every eight weeks. Photo ID and Social Security Number are required at donor registration. The Central California Blood Center is the sole provider of blood and blood products for the 31 hospitals in Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings and Mariposa Counties and must collect between 5,000 to 6,000 pints of blood a month to meet the needs of our Valley community.
