The Mighty Oak Barbershop will turn back the clock to the age of rock ‘n’ roll this weekend.
The Chorus will present its “The Fabulous ‘50s!” show on Saturday, March 9 at the Central Valley Christian Theater, on Tulare Avenue just west of Akers in Visalia.
The show will feature world renowned barbershop quartet, Hi-Fidelity. They distinguish themselves with painstaking craftsmanship, sophisticated song stylings, a strange sense of humor. But don’t let the crazy Elvis outfits fool you, they sing well too!
In 2006, Hi-Fidelity was crowned the 2006 Harmony Sweepstakes National A Cappella Champions. This is the only national competition that has vocal groups of many genres compete against each other. Hi-Fidelity was crown the national champs after besting some of the best vocal jazz, do-wop and gospel groups on the country. Most recently, Hi-Fidelity won the 2008 Pan Pacific Championship in Honolulu Hawaii. The guys are also members of the Masters of Harmony Chorus, winner of the 2008 International Chorus championship!
The quartet has a long history of spot-on performances, including being Grand Champions at the 2002 Buckeye Invitational, four-time SoCal Division Quartet Champions and 2005 Far Western District Quartet Champions which includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii and Southern Utah.

Tickets are $16 for the matinee at 2 p.m. and $18 for the evening show at 7:30 p.m. Children 12 years old and younger pay $8 for either show. The Mighty Oak Barbershop Chorus is made up of 40 members from Kings and Tulare counties. The Chorus is also the Visalia Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, an ever growing, fun loving, male fraternity of Barber Shop style singers striving to improve their entertainment value to the community.
