VISALIA – So a Filipino and an Indian walk into a theater … I’m not sure what the punchline is but there will plenty of opportunity to find out at the Visalia Fox Theatre this month. Filipino American Edwin San Juan headlines this direct from Las Vegas show featuring comedians Kabir Singh and Anthony Krayenhagen.

San Juan is known for sharing his multicultural life experiences, his observational humor, wordplay, and for poking fun at ethnic stereotypes. He is the creator and executive producer of ‘SlantED Comedy’, a showcase of Asian American stand-up comedians televised on Showtime and also performs across the country and internationally.

San Juan’s first film appearance was in “I’m Not Like That No More”, a comedy co-starring Felipe Esparza and Paul Rodriguez. He has entertained American troops on the USO tour “Around the World in Eight Days”, and has made several TV appearances including Comedy Central’s ‘Live at Gotham’, ‘Comics without Borders’ on Showtime, ‘The Payaso Comedy Slam’ on both Showtime and Comedy Central, ‘Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen’ on ABC, UPN’s ‘Live from Hollywood’, BET’s ‘Comic View’, Galavision’s ‘Que Locos’ & ‘Loco Comedy Jam’, Si TV’s ‘Latino Laugh Festival’, ‘Inside Joke’ and ‘Latino 101’, ‘Destination Stardom’ on NBC, ‘International Sexy Ladies Show’ on G4 TV and he also reigned as the grand champion of the ‘Talent Agency’ on UPN with 9 consecutive victories. Kabir “Kabeezy” Singh is one of the fastest rising comedians in the nation… fresh off his “Comedy Central” debut on the hit comedy show “Gabriel Iglesias’s Stand-Up Revolution”, Kabir is a high-energy, crowd-pleasing comic with an in-your-face attitude and razor-sharp wit, Kabeezy’s won numerous comedy competitions, including taking first place two years in a row at the Bay Area Stand Up Comedy Competition. Most importantly, he won the 2014 “SF International Comedy Competition” by coming in first place in all 5 shows in the final round which was the first time that had happened in its rich 39 year history (which included past competitors like Dana Carvey, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Louis CK, Patton Oswalt, Marc Maron, Doug Stanhope and Dane Cook). Kabir has also shared the stage with top comedy stars like Dave Chappelle, JoKoy, Russell Peters and is regularly on tour currently with Anjelah Johnson and headlines the national ‘Outsourced Comedy Tour.’
