Moms of Preschoolers supports moms of young kids twice a month at the Exeter Church of God
EXETER – The earliest years of parenting is nothing short of exhausting. But for moms with children not yet old enough for kindergarten, help is on the way.
Moms of Preschoolers (MOPS) recognizes that motherhood is a miracle. Through 9 months of growing, watching them take that first step, and hearing the transition from a sweet ‘ma-ma’ to mom! mommy! Ma! Ma! Mooooommmmm! Any seasoned mother will tell you that while those early years go fast, the days can feel so long. And truth be told, Momma needs a break! That is where MOPS comes in.
It is a twice monthly get-together designed to help gather and support moms, and it is coming to Exeter. MOPS believes in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together, face-to-face.
Starting May 7 and 21, Exeter MOPS will hold two teaser events at Church of God of Exeter. This is an invitation for moms to come take a break and be reminded that they are not alone. There will be hot coffee and breakfast, activities and crafts, not to mention free childcare on site. Meeting time is from 9 to 11 a.m., because we all know life only happens between nap times.
Early motherhood can be isolating and with social media as a primary source of communication for today’s mom, it’s no wonder we are starved for true community. Community is the heart of MOPS. It’s in community that we share our lives, find common ground, and encourage one another, even through the difficult seasons.
So moms you are welcome, sleep deprived and yoga pant wearing, to help us kickoff Exeter MOPS on the first and third Tuesday of May at Church of God of Exeter from 9 to 11 a.m.
