I am 17 years old, and a senior at Exeter Union High School. I am proud to say that I have had the privilege of growing up in this small, but beautiful town.
Growing up I was always pushed to do my best in everything I did, especially when it comes to academics. Throughout my middle school and high school career, I have maintained a high GPA. Last semester I earned a 4.17, and my current cumulative high school GPA is 3.95. By the time I graduate high school next June, I will have completed five AP courses, and one college accredited course. Once I graduate, my goal is to attend a four-year university. I am hoping to pursue a Master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics, and become a registered dietitian, where I would help patients with food or nutrition related issues.
Since my freshman year of high school I have been a member of the Exeter Kiwanis Key Club as well as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I have also been in our school’s Leadership class for three years, serving as ASB secretary during my sophomore year.
During my four years at Exeter High, I have played volleyball for all of them, and ran track for two. My junior year, my volleyball team won the Valley title, and my track team took runner up for the small school valley title.
Living in Exeter, I have discovered that giving back to your community is one of the most important and rewarding experiences to have. Not only have I served in Exeter, but have outreached to Tulare County as a whole. To name a few, I have volunteered at the Tulare County Animal Shelter at numerous adoption events, including at our very own Fall Festival. I have also attended and served at many of Kaweah Delta’s events. In addition, I’ve also spent many hours helping the Tulare County Parenting Network at Special Needs Kids events. My favorite event with the TCPN would by far be the Trunk-or-Treat done around Halloween. I would be extremely honored and privileged to represent Exeter through the 2019 Miss Exeter scholarship program.
