Visalia Parks and Recreation’s ice skating rink at Garden Street Plaza is open through Jan. 12
VISALIA – It’s hard to imagine ice skating without any rain or freezing temperatures, but that hasn’t stopped Visalia from finding a way to provide residents with more than walking in a winter wonderland!
For the fifth year, Visalia is offering the only synthetic ice skating rink in Tulare County and will be open daily through Jan. 12 from noon to 6 p.m. at Garden Street Plaza on Main Street. The Visalia Parks and Recreation. The synthetic ice not only conserves water, but it does not require ongoing refrigeration and is easier for beginning skaters and safer for all.
Public skate admission is $10, which includes skate rentals, on the following dates and times in January: 2-9 p.m. on Jan. 4 and 11; 2-8 p.m. on Jan. 12; 5-8 p.m. on Jan. 5: all other dates are noon to 6 p.m.
There are still two themed skate nights left on the calendar. On Friday, Jan. 3 the ice rink will host a Harry Potter themed night and on Friday, Jan. 10 a Star Wars night, in honor of the recent release of the final movie in the Star Wars saga Rise of Skywalker, for just $5 each. If you aren’t into wands and light sabers there’ll be time for tiaras on Sunday, Jan. 15 for a Princess Party. Admission is $15 for this event.
You can also book private parties at the rink. To reserve a party, call 559-713-4365 or email [email protected]a.city for pricing and availability. For more information, visit www.iceskatevisalia.com or call 559-713-4365. Garden Street Plaza is located at 300 E. Main St. in downtown Visalia.
