VISALIA – If you’re a month into your new year’s resolutions and feel like you need to jump start your routine, Visalia has planned a Git Fit weekend.

The Get Fit Fitness Crawl, Healthy Living Expo and the End of the Trail Run will all be held between Friday, Feb. 29 and Sunday, March 1. Saturday morning will start with the Get Fit Fitness Crawl from 8 to 10 a.m. For $20, participants get three workouts and a breakfast. Funds raised from the Fitness Crawl will benefit the End of the Trail Statue restoration along with donations from the End of the Trail Race.

The 17th annual End of the Trail Race will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sunday on Main Street in downtown. The Half Marathon and 10k route takes 1,500 runners through residential streets and neighborhoods and onto the Santa Fe Trail. Half Marathoners continue to the historic End of the Trail bronze statue in Mooney Grove Park before heading back to the party at the finish line. The finish line expo features a beer garden, food, chocolate milk, cash prizes, pace cars, and giveaways. This is one of the fastest and flattest courses in the Valley and is a NY Qualifier. Entry fee is $95 for the half marathon plus a $5.10 sign up fee, $63 for the 10K with a $3.60 sign up fee, $75 for the virtual half marathon plus a $4.50 sign up fee and $55 for the virtual 10K plus a $3.30 sign up fee.

The night before the race, PRO-PT will hold a Pre Race Dinner from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 29 at the Visalia Convention Center. Keynote speaker will Dr. Jerry Hizon who will be speaking on sleep and the secrets of elite athletes. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 years old and younger.

Tying it all together is the third annual Visalia Healthy Living Expo from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 29. The event will feature health and fitness vendors displaying and selling health and fitness related products and services. Meet instructors and experts, ask questions and learn about adding more activity and wellness into your daily life. Also take advantage of screenings, healthy lifestyle cooking demonstrations, workout demonstrations and presentations.

Screenings, demonstrations and presentations to look forward to: martial arts, gymnastics, fitness studios, yoga, a pullup contest, and much more. Local orthopedic doctors and physical therapists will also be present to meet and discuss orthopedic services, injuries, and concerns with attendees.
