Sponsored by Kirkman’s VIP Pizza

Hello, my name is Alexis Kirkman. I am 17 years old and a senior at Exeter Union High School. I was born and raised in Exeter, where I live with my parents Kevin & Kathy and siblings Dakota and Katelyn. My father Kevin, was born and raised in the town of Exeter, his involvement in the community has supported many of Exeter’s youth and organizations. His time contributed to players and people throughout the community amazes me. Our family has owned Kirkman’s Vip Pizza since I was six, and I have been working there since.

I have a love for the small town charm Exeter upholds. The fact that everyone helps out everyone is a key characteristic that our community has. It has been a blessing to grown up here, where everyone is like a big family. From a young age, I have enjoyed being involved in the community by participating on recreational sports teams such as volleyball, softball, basketball, and swimming on the Exeter Eels Team. As a child I went to the summer camps that Exeter hosted at the lincoln Park, those are memories that I will never forget. I also have helped with city events during the holidays. The city of Exeter will always have a special place in my heart, the people and community have a big impact on me.

At Exeter Union High School, I am a member Future Farmers of America where I have raised and marketed a lamb and three pigs. I have also received my Green hand, Chapter, and State degree. I am involved in Key Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. While being a three sport athlete, I have played Volleyball (4 years), Basketball (3 years), and Track & field    (3 years). I was Junior Class Secretary and this year I am the Vice President of the Senior Class Office. I was in the ASB leadership class, I helped plan rallies and events for students. Some community service acts I have done is donate to Toys for Tots, an organization that provides a new christmas gift to kids that won’t receive one. Also, I’ve helped to collect jackets during winter to keep our community warm. Giving back to people that are less fortunate feels good, and the best part it all goes back to our town.

I strive for the best for my future and have maintain a GPA of 3.8 throughout High School. As Exeter has provided many AP courses to advance my career in college, the many teachers and staff have always supported me to do my best. As I plan forward I would like to continue to play volleyball at the collegiate level. My future goal is to attend a four-year university and to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. My desire to help people and a dream I’ve always had as a kid, is to work in a hospital. Furthermore, majoring in the Neonatal field and to work with newborns is such a rewarding opportunity.

I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Kirkman’s Vip Pizza as a candidate for Miss Exeter. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent my hometown of Exeter which has made me be the person I am today. This experience will help me develop skills and self-confidence that will benefit me in my journey through life.
