Kassi Stolz
Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Exeter
My name is Kassi Rose Stolz and I am running for Miss Exeter. I am 18 years old and I am currently in my senior year at Exeter Union High School. I’ve lived in Exeter since I was five years old when my parents decided to leave Camarillo and instead raise my brother and I in the very special small town of Exeter California.
During my time at Exeter Union High School, I’ve played varsity volleyball, varsity softball, and varsity track. Today, whether I am in the gym, on the track, or a spectator at a ball game I am always thankful for the cheers of the hometown crowd, and all the generous sponsors whose donations of time and money are critical in keeping our sports programs competitive!
Beyond athletics, I have been an elected Student Leader every year of school serving as Vice President of the freshman, sophomore and junior classes. This year, I am honored to represent and support the interests of the entire EUHS student body as the newly elected ASB President. In my leadership positions I have learned so much about the hard work involved in making special events and daily life enjoyable for a diverse group of students living in Exeter.
Over my school years, I have also participated in the California Scholarship Federation, The Key Club, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes where I was the activities director this past year and plan to run for President this year.
Last spring, I was nominated as a candidate to attend Camp Royal. The selection process involved a sit down interview before a Rotary Selection Committee, where they selected the eventual camp attendees on the basis of demonstrated leadership skills, personal values, intelligence and the promise of future success. As one of the selected camp attendees, I enjoyed the process of practicing living in a truly democratic society as we faced communication and organizational challenges to complete tasks while dealing with crazy swings in temperature and bare minimum accommodations. As a result I plan to stay active and donate my time, talent, and funds to the generation of Exeter citizens that will come behind me!
After graduation I will be playing volleyball at New Mexico State University, where I plan to study Journalism and Mass Communications with an emphasis in public relations and corporate event planning. My dream job would be to work as a spokesperson for a City or company and be involved in the publicity for and the planning of major events. A career in this field will allow me to combine all of my favorite activities such as leadership, event planning, public speaking, photography, flower arranging, and advertising.
I would be honored to be chosen to serve as Miss Exeter as I am so grateful for the childhood I have enjoyed in the embrace of small town citizens with big hearts!
