It used to seem pointless for Alma Clements, 84, to make doctors appointments because she would almost always have to reschedule. Clements, a long-time resident of the Exeter area, always had to wait for a friend, neighbor or family member to drive her to Visalia and often times they couldn't make it.
"I just kept rescheduling until I found someone who actually showed up," she said.
Clements recently had to schedule surgery to correct cataract in her right eye. But this time she didn't need to reschedule because the Exeter Senior Center's passenger van picked her up in front of her home and drove her to her appointment. Just last week, she traveled back to Visalia in the van to have surgery on the other eye.
