Farmersville Unified School District is getting a lesson in the minute details of an election as the race for two seats on the school board was too close to call as of press time.
Prior to absentee ballot counting, Don Mason and Alvin Vanderslice led the race. However, a report issued by the County Elections Office on Friday, Nov. 7 had Martin Macareno and Bianca Sandoval leading with 26.77 percent and 25.17 percent of the vote respectively. Mason trails with 23.65 percent and Vanderslice has dropped to fourth with 21.21 percent.
The County Elections Office was still tallying absentee ballots on Tuesday morning. The Elections Office said it did not know when the next update would come or when a final count would be complete.
Linda Lorene Burns only garnered 1.98 percent of the vote as of press time.
