The Exeter Redevelopment Agency stalled a dangerous trend of losing parking spaces by approving the purchase of a 39,460 square-foot lot on F Street across from city hall.
At its Nov. 25 meeting, the ERA unanimously approved the $108,515 purchase of Union Pacific Railroad property using $50,000 from the contingency fund budget and appropriating an additional $58,515 to that fund to cover the cost. Union Pacific Railroad said in order to honor the sale it must close by Dec. 19. The ERA consists of all five members of the Exeter City Council. ERA meets as needed following Exeter City Council meetings.
