The Courthouse Gallery of the Arts is hosting a "Christmas at the Gallery" fund-raising event beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The semi-formal event will include catered hors d'oeuvres, fine wine and other beverages followed by a live auction. Admission is $10.
The auction will include original artwork donated by local artists. Five-foot by seven-inch framed paintings and drawings and three dimensional art that could fit in a 6-by-7 inch cube or smaller were donated by the artists to hang as ornaments on a Christmas Tree in the gallery's main exhibit hall. The "ornaments" will then be auctioned off by a professional auctioneer.
Artists who donated and their spouse or one friend will be admitted free.
The gallery is operated by the Exeter Art Gallery and Museum Association, a non-profit organization supported through community donations and local fund-raisers. All proceeds raised at this event will help pay overhead and administrative costs to keep the gallery open.
