Two hit in drive-by shooting

It was 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22 when Lt. Brown and Officer Garcia responded to the 300 block of North Homassel Avenue for a report of a drive-by shooting.

Upon arrival officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his shoulder and another male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his foot. The names and ages of the victims were not released.

Imperial Ambulance transported both victims to Sierra View District Hospital for further treatment. A "Be on the Lookout" was issued for a white/gray Ford F-150.

At 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 23 officers responded to the 500 block of West Hermosa Street where one of the suspects , a juvenile who was reportedly involved in the shooting, was taken into custody. A BOL was placed for the second subject.

It was 4:30 a.m. when James Torres, 19, who resides on the 600 block of North Gale Hill Avenue, the second suspect involved in the drive-by shooting on Sept. 22, came into the police department to turn himself in. He was taken into custody without incident.
