Starlight Ball act sings to your ‘Soul'

The organizers of the Starlight Ball did some soul searching this year and discovered one of the most exciting entertainers it has seen.

The entertainment for the Kiwanis Club's sixth annual benefit for the Exeter Boys & Girls Club is Bobby Brooks Hamilton. Brooks is the star of Soul Classics, a Las Vegas tribute show that captures the essence of the legends of R&B and soul artists of the past.

This multi-talented artist is the nation's leading impersonator of soul and pop legends Jackie Wilson, Little Richard, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Johnny Mathis.

During his one-man show, the audience takes a magical spin as they enter the world of Bobby Brooks Hamilton. He transforms into each soul classic legend right on the stage while doing costume and make-up changes.

Anyone with a soul would want to help the Exeter Boys & Girls Club, and no one has more soul than Bobby Brooks Hamilton. Following his performance there will be dancing to the popular cover band &#8220Run4Cover.”

The formal dinner, dance and raffle will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Exeter Veterans Memorial Building. Black tie is optional. Tickets are $70 per person and are available at NSE Insurance, Inc., 592-9411; the Exeter Boys & Girls Club, 592-2711; and the Exeter Chamber of Commerce, 592-2919.
