Cardinals Roughed Up By Generals

On Friday, Sept. 14 the Lindsay Cardinals traveled to Shafter to take on the Shafter Generals.

It did not take long for the Generals to get on the board as Ramon Alvarez punched it in from four yards out to give the Generals the early 7-0 lead.

Lindsay would answer back late in the first quarter as Jacob Hernandez finds his way into the end zone from one yard out to tie the game up at 7-7.

This would be the only scoring the Cardinals would get. In the second quarter the Generals would score three more touchdowns to pull away from the Cardinals 28-7. Then in the third quarter it would not get any easier for the Cardinals. Shafter would score another two more times to put the game away at 42-7.

One of the bright spots for the Cardinals was running back Jacob Hernandez who rushed for 154 yards in just 23 attempts. Hernandez would also have one reception for ten yards for the Cardinals.

On defense it was Hernandez again who was one of the stars of the night as Hernandez had one interception for Lindsay.

The Cardinals are now 1-2 on the season and will be taking on Fowler on Friday, Sept. 21 in Lindsay.
