Students Walk For School

More than 600 students and dozens of parent volunteers gathered Friday morning at Rocky Hill Elementary School in Exeter to spend time walking and dancing around the track to music, in order to raise money for their school.

The event was a huge success, raising over $7,000.00 to help pay for student field trips and special events. Culligan Water and Exeter Sportsman Association provided fresh water for the event and the Nutrition Network provided information and fresh oranges to the students while they walked. Students were also given the opportunity to purchase baseball throws in an attempt to dunk their Principal, Stephanie Verners, select teachers, and even District Superintendent Tim Hire in a carnival-style dunk tank.

Principal Stephanie Verners and Mr. Dillon donned wetsuits for their plunge into the tub. Rocky Hill Band instructor Mr. Black was clearly a favorite among students and Tim Hire was a favorite target for both students and staff alike.

Spirits were high and great fun was had by all during this special, spirited day.

Rocky Hill PTO would like to thank all the volunteers who helped organize this event and the following sponsors for making this year’s event such a financial success:
