Woodlake has a ‘Blast’ day before July 4th

Pre-Fourth of July party offers fun for the whole family at Miller-Brown Park

Woodlake – The days are longer in July, meaning fireworks have to start a little later to get the full effect of dazzling light in the darkness. And with Independence Day coming on a Monday this year, going to work on Tuesday morning will be that much harder, especially if you have kids. So why not have a fireworks blast on Sunday instead!

That’s what the Woodlake Kiwanis Club is doing with its annual July 3rd Blast. The free event offers fireworks, food and family fun at Miller Brown (City) Park, located at the corner of Antelope Avenue and Magnolia Street in downtown Woodlake. Kids will enjoy bounce houses, kids zone play area, a magic show, face painting and dunk tank. Adults can sign up for a Horseshow Tournament. Entry fee is $25. There will also be a blood drive from 6-8:30 p.m. The community event will end with an aerial fireworks show. For more information, call Linda LaFleur with the Woodlake Kiwanis Club at 559-564-2485.
