EUHS music department is holding emergency concert to help victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma

EXETER – Hundreds of people across the nation are banding together to help raise money and support for the devastation brought on by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma in the Houston and Florida Keys areas. Even the Exeter Union High School marching band is lending a hand to the relief efforts with a benefit concert.

The concert will be held on Monday, Sept. 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the EUHS auditorium.

“I just couldn’t watch the news and see all that horrible stuff that folks in the South are going through, and sit here and do nothing,” said head of the music department Kirk Clague. “So I talked to the kids about it and we are pulling together this concert.”

Performing at the concert will be members of the EUHS band, choir and guitar students. There will also be a special guest artist.

The suggested donation for admission to this concert is $10 for adults and $5 for students or children. There will also be a silent auction going on. Baked goods and water will be available for purchase for a dollar each.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to a relief agency in order to directly help the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. In order to purchase tickets or for more information, please contact Kirk Clague at 559-592-2127.
