Farmers from around the nation will visit McKellar Farms/Historic Seven Sycamores Ranch in Ivanhoe
IVANHOE – McKellar Family Farms (MFF) and sister company Historic Seven Sycamores Ranch (HSSR) are honored to host hundreds of farmers from around the nation during the 2018 Farmers Inspired Convention on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 from noon to 2 p.m. During their visit, 300 to 400 agritourism farmers will learn about the success of HSSR as a wedding venue, and will experience MFF’s agritourism operation.
The event will feature several interactive stations, including a “Taste of the San Joaquin Valley” experience where guests will taste products made in the Central Valley. Various attractions include: Citrus Tasting, Courtesy of Lindcove Research and Extension Center, Wedding Education Pavilion, Wagon Rides, Orange Picking, Equipment Exhibit, Taste of the San Joaquin Valley.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting this event and can’t wait to show these farmers what we do,” said Bob McKellar, owner of McKellar Ranch Co. “I’ve been attending these conventions for several years and have experienced some of the nation’s best agritourism farms, so we are quite honored that these farmers are coming to see our operation.”

Farmers Inspired—also known as North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association (NAFDMA)—was established in 1986 as a membership-based, non-profit trade association dedicated to advancing the farm direct marketing and agri-tourism industry. This six-day convention is held in a different state annually, and will be based in Los Angeles this year with farm tour visits throughout the Central Valley and Southern California.
