Woodlake will honor annual award winners at 6 p.m. on March 2 at the Woodlake Memorial Building


WOODLAKE – A ‘Homegrown’ DJ, a drama loving school counselor, a soldier who served overseas who now ships domestically, a Flying Tiger, the reigning Miss Woodlake and a student who serves on the City Council are among those who will be honored this Saturday as those who represent the best of Woodlake.

This year’s winners are: Man of the Year Louie Lopez, Woman of the Year Aurora Medina, Youth Mentor of the Year Larry Arroyo, Educator of the Year Nancy Crawford, Community Organization of the Year Woodlake Kiwanis Club, Business of the Year Goin’ Postal and Youths of the Year Female – Claudia Zacarias and Carlos Lucatero.

Other awards include Lifetime Achievement winner Terry Baker, Spirit of Woodlake award winners Deb and George Kulick, Commitment to Youth winner Woodlake Youth Football and Recycler of the Year – Deborah Thompson and WHS Recycling Club.

Winners will be honored at the Woodlake Awards Banquet on Friday, March 2 at the Woodlake Memorial Building, located at 355 N. Acacia St. in Woodlake. Social Hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $30 in advance or $40 at the door. Past winners pay $25 and children 10 and under get in for $10. Tables of eight are available for $220.
