VISALIA – Many New Year Resolutions center around getting in shape. Here’s a way to learn how. Or if you’re already there, a day to really feel the burn. Burn for the Bubbly returns to downtown Visalia on Saturday, March 2. Participants will work out in four 20-minute workouts in downtown fitness studios.

Last year’s Burn saw about 100 participants in a variety of age groups, said Blaire Bostwick, business development and events manager for Downtown Visalians.

With this year’s motto, “Sweat, Sip, Success!” they hope to see even more.

“People had a great time,” said Gilbert Vasquez of last year’s event. Vasquez is co-owner of Blueprint Fitness Studio, specializing in boxing-inspired fitness.

Every participating studio is different, offering a variety of yoga, Pilates, boxing-inspired workouts, and more, he explained. And, participants will get yet another workout having only 10-15 minutes from one to the next workout.

It is important, however, “for everyone to go at your own pace,” Vasquez said. And, if you feel you need to sit out for one workout, you should follow your instinct.

“We have 12-year-olds up to 78-year-old women,” he added.

Not every type of fitness workout is for everyone. Burn for the Bubbly is a way to experience some of the differing types of programs. The reward, for those 21 and older, is sipping on those bubbly mimosas when you’re done. Breakfast will also be available as participants finish and water will be available throughout.

Participating studios include Blueprint Fitness Studios, Oak Street Studios Fitness, Katie’s Custom Fit, Elite Results III, Body Effect Fitness & Performance, FIT Tribe Academy, and TFW Visalia.

“Before and after your workouts, you’ll be able to speak to the fitness studio’s staff, receive special membership deals, earn fitness raffle prizes, shop for workout clothes, and see all the latest and greatest wellness items, Bostwick said.

“Fitness is growing downtown,” she added, and Downtown Visalians is organizing Burn for the Bubbly II as the association is the “face and voice for all downtown merchants.”

Check in begins at 7 a.m. Workouts kick-off at 8. Bring your ticket printed out or electronically to receive your workout map and schedule
