Unrestrained 30-year-old male from Porterville dies in single car accident on Saturday, Feb. 20
PORTERVILLE – California Highway Patrol responded to a single car accident and death in the county over the weekend.
According to a CHP collision report, Visalia Area CHP officers responded to state route 137 and road 148, along with medical personnel. During the course of the investigation it was determined, that around 12:41 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20 a 30-year-old male from Porterville was driving a 2008 Honda, eastbound on state route 137 approaching Road 148, at an undetermined speed. For undetermined reasons, the driver veered off the north road edge of 137, collided with a steel posted fence and vacant residence. The driver was unrestrained and sustained fatal injuries. The crash was reported approximately six hours after it occurred, when the crash was discovered by residents nearby.
The driver’s name was withheld in the collision report pending notification of his family.
