CalFire Tulare Unit extinguishes fire near Dry Creek Road that began last Tuesday
VISALIA – Wildfire season is a few months away if we’re lucky, but fire crews are getting some practice after a small fire went ablaze last week near Woodlake.
The CalFire Tulare Unit announced last week that they received a report of a wildland fire northeast of Woodlake off of Dry Creek Road on Tuesday, May 11. They named the 70-acre blaze, the Buzzard Fire. The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of press time. CalFire was assisted by Tulare County Fire Department and the Sequoia National Forest.
In order to combat the fire, four hand crews, 10 engines, two water tenders, six aircrafts and two bulldozers were needed.
